Project Story
Challenge
A Growing City Demands More
Tauranga is one of New Zealand's fastest-growing cities - and its infrastructure needs to keep pace. Tauranga City Council required a partner capable of delivering across multiple concurrent projects spanning traffic signals, civil works, stadium lighting, streetscaping and motorway infrastructure. Each project had its own complexity: busy arterial corridors requiring live traffic management, a premier stadium venue demanding bespoke lighting solutions, a community reserve requiring sensitive streetscaping, and a major new motorway overpass needing full signals integration. CSL was engaged to deliver across each of these projects from design and installation through to commissioning, maintenance and ongoing traffic management.
CSL Solution
Specialist Capability Across Tauranga
CSL contributed to a range of Tauranga projects through both direct client relationships and partnerships with Tier One infrastructure companies. For Cameron Road and the Takitimu North Link flyover, CSL worked alongside major delivery partners to support infrastructure projects for Tauranga City Council, bringing specialist capability across traffic signals, civil works, installation, commissioning and traffic management. At Baypark, CSL worked directly with Bay Venues to deliver bespoke lighting for a premier sports and events venue. At Tunks Reserve, CSL delivered streetscaping and community lighting works with care for the surrounding public environment.
Outcome
Infrastructure That Works Harder
Across Tauranga, CSL has helped deliver infrastructure that supports how the city moves, gathers and grows. Major transport corridors have been upgraded with specialist signal and civil works. A key motorway connection has been supported with traffic signal integration. Baypark now benefits from purpose-designed lighting suited to professional sport and large-scale events, while Tunks Reserve has been enhanced through thoughtful streetscaping and community lighting. Together, these projects show CSL’s ability to contribute specialist expertise across complex, high-profile infrastructure programmes.
